Week 5 - Mesa

Well everybody I made it to Mesa and I'm loving it here! Heat and all! I'm loving the Spanish and they feed us so much!! We're not completely sure what the Visa situation is but we're thinking about 2 transfers which is 12 weeks so I'll keep you updated with that! Sunday : Easterrrrrrrr I LOVE THIS HOLIDAY SO MUCH! I got to speak and pack. Hahaha this day was full of devotionals and packing... I can't really remember what happened. Hahahaha cool.  Monday : this day was also full of packing and making sure I was ready to leave. It was also super sad saying goodbye to teachers and my zone but it was super fun! We got to help other districts with Spanish and lessons and fake investigators and it was a blast! Tuesday: this day started at 5:30 and my cute companions dropped me off and we got on the train to the airplane. We got to talk to actual people on the train and it got us super excited! When we were landing I just felt this overwhelming feeling of this is where i need to be right now. I just had so much love in my heart and so much gratitude ahhhhhh but then the day turned super long hahahaha we had such a long meeting BUT I MET MY COMPANION and she's so cute and so fun! She went to Centennial jr for a few years and then moved but her names hermana Jenkins! We went to a member dinner and we pulled up and she goes oh by the way were sharing the dinner thought. So we then ate with the other 4 elders in our ward and we shared the message and it went well!  Wednesday : another 8 hour meeting day (: they gave us lunch which was nice. Hahaha we had a lesson and a dinner with the couple were living with. Kim and Jack are Lutherans and have been having elders live with them for years and were the first set of sisters she's had and when we asked why she was okay with sisters now she replied with "oh I didn't want sisters they forced it on me" she now says were not that bad and she really likes us so that's good! Hahaha but she took us to dinner and the initiation into her house was we had to eat the hottest wings and holy my mouth does not handle hot foods well at all. Well I ate it and holy it was SO HOT I WAS DYING. Our stomachs were not happy with us that night. it was so funny though and Kim loved it  Thursday : today was spent cleaning my companions old apartment and teaching English and teaching Moises who's getting baptized Saturday and he could really use all your prayers!! He's so cool!  Friday : this day was pretty chaotic. This whole week was kind of crazy and we were running everywhere it was kinda a lot. Today I realized I have a fear. I'm paranoid when walking around places I don't know at night and walking up to doors is kind of scary but I do not want to be scared so I prayed and asked Heavenly Father to help comfort me and give me confidence andddddd Saturday : I WASNT SCARED OR NERVOUS ONCE. I know it sounds silly but I am so so happy that I can not have to worry about being scared. Hahahaha okay but this day was crazy!! Rigo got baptized!! We planned everything basically Friday and it was a little stressful but we did it and it was so good!  Sunday : I spoke in sacrament and it went well and we spent a lot of the day contacting and not finding but it was such a good day!  Sorry the first days I am really into typing and then by the end I kind of get bored and don't know what to say. So I'm sorry I'll work on it hahahaha I love you all and thank you for all the prayers! Talk to you all in a week! Fe on Dios incluye Fe en Su tiempo  Hermana Campbell

Week 4 - MTC Super Seniors???

I hope everyone had such a fantastic week!! I leave for Arizona on Tuesday at 6:15 and you best believe I am SO EXCITED!!!! Not sure how I'm going to handle the sun because I'm getting burnt in this 70 degree utah weather... SO that's exciting!! Anyway this week flew and was such a good one!! Probably the best one yet! Sunday : This day was great because we got to have the sacrament and have a bunch of amazing church classes! Hermana Roberts and I taught Relief Society and I think it went pretty well. Us hermanas (Almonte Wangsgard Roberts y yo) sang "mas cerca Dios a ti" and it was great until I couldn't hit the high note and just didn't look at anyone. bahaha it wasn't bad. Later that night we had a music group come and perform Lamb of God and wow I was in tears and was feeling the Spirit so strong. I came out of thatdevotional with such a desire to know God and Jesus Christ, and I encourage all of you to really search for a knowledge of our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Especially with Easter being this Sunday! Really pray and search the Book of Mormon for a knowledgeand testimony of the ones who love us most. It will change your view of the world and of yourself I promise.  Monday : Well this day was sad. My companion, Hermana Roberts, left to Spain with Hermana Wangsgard. The rest of the day was spent in class and helping hermana Almonte get packed for her departure and that was an adventure in itself... hahaha Island missions don't allow you to take multiple checked suitcases and for an Hermana with mucho clothes.... it was an adventure. OH and I went with the elders who are MTC Super Seniors with me, to the TRC building to get the week figured out and I ended up teaching a lady named Ana solo and it went so well! She is incredible.  Tuesday : Yikes. Tuesday started at 3am getting Hermana Almonte out the door and to the travel office. We got to the travel office and I realized I had grabbed her key card instead of mine which meant I did not have a key to get back into my room... and all my roommates are gone. So after a few early morning goodbye/frustration tears and fallen I was able to get a key to my room and by 4am I was back in bed asleep. Waking up alone was actually quite sad and I didn't like it but I ended up having such an amazinglesson with Ana and having great classes with the Elders... MY NEW DISTRICT! They adopted me into there district and I switched rooms so I'm not by myself anymore don't worry(: The devotional tonight talked a lot about using the Book of Mormon in EVERY LESSON and I'll go further and say EVERY DAY. This is not just any book. this book has literally EVERY THING you need. It gives comfort, love, guidance, knowledge, stories, testimonies, literally everything. If you aren't reading the Book of Mormon everyday, I encourage you all to start. Even one verse a day will start to change your life.  Wednesday : Ana accepted baptism!! Legit everyone, she's teaching me. It's amazing. Ether 12:27 "And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them." Heavenly Father doesn't expect us to be perfect. He has given us weaknesses to help us grow and become stronger. Never feel like you aren't good enough for anything this life has to offer. God is right there with you helping you grow. If He allows you to fall, which He will, He will give you the strength you need to get back up. This day was such an amazing day and my testimony grew a ton. Thursday : Wellllllll today I broke the record for the most consecutive freethrows for las hermanas. 26 in a row. thank you thank you. hahaha It was fun. Following the Elders around this week hasn't been too bad until today and I felt like a little sister trying to keep up with my older siblings. bahaha it wasn't that bad. We got to help in a workshop and be actors for an hour and that was super fun but other than that pretty much a normal day.  Friday : AHHHHH SUCH A COOL DAY so long story short there was this kid in my school class that would walk home with me and help me with my math homework and his name was spencer. Half way through elementary school he moved and I hadn't seen him since.UNTIL HERE AT THE CCM. I asked him what elementary school he went to (after explaining that this might sound weird) and then he said "Sand Springs... no way Ashlyn?!" and then we talked for a minute we shook hands and then took a picture. So enjoy! hahaha it was so good seeing him! I actually have seen lots of friends from utah and nevada and IT'S SO FUN! Today was my last TRC with Ana and I actually cried after because wow she's amazing. I don't know how else to explain it.  Saturday : Today we got to go to the temple. My favorite place ever and I'm sad it might be my last time in the temple for 1.5 years. We'll pray for a temple trip in AZ!  This week has by far been the hardest but most rewarding weeks on my mission and wow I am truly blessed with so many prayers and people in my life so THANK YOU!! I can't thank you enough for all the support!! It truly means a lot! I love you all and being a MTC Super Senior was way worth it!! I love you all!! Week 3 - Mesa, Arizona Here I Come

Hola mis mejores amigos!!! Como estan??? Okay to start off some of you may already know and some may not but, I have been temporarily reassigned to MESA ARIZONA!! My visa has not yet come and I need to go learn a few things in Mesa before I head to Ecuador! I also get to spend another week here in the MTC! Ill talk a bit more about this later so stay tuned (; Sunday : Conference was absolutely incredible and Saturday night we had a special Sister Meeting during Priesthood Session and Sis Dalton came and spoke to us! I got to meet her afterwards as well! She talked a lot about how although she has been released her calling has not changed and how we can continue to be missionaries and living this life after we return home. It was a pretty special meeting.  Monday : This day. Yikes. We received our flight plans for Ecuador last week and it got me so excited for Ecuador. Still not sure what was going on with our Visa's we got our hopes up. Bad idea. We then realized all our missionary portals had changed to Arizona and it took me by surprise, I also found out 5 minutes after I found out we had to put our dog down because of a tumor in his stomach... Let's just say the timing was right on point but I got up and wanted to truly wanted to be happy. But lets just say it was a day. Tuesday : BEST DAY EVER. I had come to terms with Arizona and don't get me wrong, I am very excited to go to Arizona, I was just a bit taken back and idk how to explain it because I have faith in the Lord but yeah I won't try and explain how my mind wasworking that day. Anyway we had a devotional tonight and Brother and Sister Cordon came and spoke! She spoke about companions and then "The Lord is in charge, He knows me." and "Have faith n the Lord Jesus Christ; He sent me where I need to be." We then sangpeace in christ and wowzers I was balling that whole devotional. Then it was down pouring outside and yeah Heavenly Father loves me and it was just incredible. I explained that whole thing just to say I AM SO EXCITED TO GO TO ARIZONA AND I CAN NOT WAIT! Wednesday - Friday : They were all pretty normal. I learn some incredible things everyday like holy this Gospel is amazing. I also realize that I can't say no to ice cream. It's just so good. Our friend from TRC accepted to be baptized and I have learned a lot from those practice/real lessons we've taught! My poor teacher also doesn't know what to do with us. We have so much energy at night (slap happy) and so we started singing and doing "Cabeza, Cara, Hombros, Pies" Head shoulders knees and toes bascially. It's so funny and he enjoys it too. Ill include a picture of us doing our dance... HAHAHAHA I love you all and KEEP BEING AMAZING! There is no time then right now to share the gospel with anyone and everyone! This work is amazing and everyone could use a little more happiness and joy in there life. No matter what you're going through I know that God is right there just waiting for you to ask.  One of my favorite quotes from conference is "Gods love is immediate. Never Question it." Week 2

YIKES EVERYBODY THIS IS AMAZING!!! I swear I haven't been here two weeks but also I feel like I've been here for ages... Not sure how that works but I'll let you figure it out! hehe I hope everyone had such a good week because, wow, I sure did and I probably will mess up the days but I will do my best to explain how my week went! SUNDAY : We had fast Sunday because of CONFERENCE WOOT WOOT and that was such an amazing experience. There are so many amazing people that have such strong testimonies and holy it's amazing. Sorry this is all just so incredible and I don't have words to explain it but I'm gonna do my best. We had Relief Society and then a lot of other classes with our Branch Presidency. Which the Branch Presidency have some incredible wives that visit our rooms when there at the MTC and will give us hugs goodnight and talk with us. They're so sweet and so special.  MONDAY : We met our investigator for our TRC (training resource center) lesson. Which is basically an member/nonmember who is paid to be an investigator. So we met a few of those people including the friend that we get to teach. We then had class and food and Spanish and ya know I don't really remember.  TUESDAY : I don't remember what I did Tuesday. For real all the days blend together but it was pretty normal day here at the CCM. I broke the record for the most freethrows made consecutively which was pretty cool! It's only 15 but I'm gonna keep trying to get more.. I love exercise time. I love every time we have anything honestly.  WEDNESDAY : Alrighty. This day is one of my most favorite days ever. IT'S ICE CREAM DAYYYYYYY Every wednesday and sunday they serve real ice cream and let me tell ya, it's a good day here at the CCM.  THURSDAY : We had our first TRC lesson and woah it was a bit disappointing. I wasn't completely on board with the lesson we chose and because I wasn't 100% in tune with the lesson, so I wasn't 100% in tune with my companion and that means I was not 100% in tune with the Spirit. The lesson itself was a good lesson but we taught a lesson instead of a person. After a bit of blehness Hermana Roberts and I stayed after and talked with our teacher about how we can be more in tune with each other, which it was incredible and I learned a lot from that lesson. We then had a really good day and got to know each other a lot more and planned a great lesson for Friday. Still though the day was so good and I wouldn't change it for anything.  FRIDAY : Second TRC and it went so much better! Our friend (Desiree) opened up so much more and we had a really good lesson! Literally probably one of my most favorite days here at the CCM. We laughed SO MUCH! We had the opportunity to give a tour here at the CCM for some nonmembers and it was very cool to share our testimony with them and talk to the MTC President and his wife about missions and the gospel. Such a good experience. We got our flight plans for when we leave here and pray that my visa comesthrough so I get to be on those flights to Quito! Our poor teacher Hermano Barclay had to try and teach with all our meneos (wiggles). Don't worry he was laughing too, and we had a very good lesson. It was such a good preparation day for Conference. Conference today was absolutely incredible. The Spirit was so strong and I felt so much joy and comfort. I encourage all of you to go and watch, read, or listen to the talks that were given today! You can find them onthechurchofjesuschrist.org or in the Gospel Library App hopefully tomorrow! Go check them out!! They give some incredible guidance as to how to better our lives and become closer to Jesus Christ and His gospel. We have a lot of work to do, but we are told that as we begin to grow closer to Jesus Christ and His Atonement and have a desire to live it, we will be blessed with the strength and the needs to do it. I also challenge all of you to search up Christlike attributes and choose one to really focus on each month! As we become more like Christ, His light will shine brighter in ourselves, and we will have more opportunities to spread the gospel and sharethe light that is blessing your life. I know that as we work to become more like Christ, He will bless our lives and the lives of those we love. He will give you opportunities and blessings that you can't even begin to imagine.  I love you all so very much and I can feel your prayers! Keep serving, loving, and being amazing! Have such a good week, and find the good in everyday! IT'S THERE! TE AMO, Hermana Campbell
